There are numerous stories that leaked out from the prison where Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha and Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda were incarcerated before their execution, adding to the legendery status that their actions thus far had already garnered. By all accounts they had both remained in high spirits until the very end, but went one step further on the fateful date of their hanging itself, reportedly making their way to the execution block in a resounding chorus of jakareh and kissing the noose before it was hung around their necks. In this song written by Gravesend’s (UK) Gian Singh Surjeet, the lyricist imagines Bhai Jinda speaking resolutely to his brother-in-arms Bhai Sukha, one final time.
