This track performed by the Nabhe Waliyan Bibian, penned by Balwant Singh Premi, comes from the same Parsang as our last Song of the Struggle. This work hails the response of Sikhs defending the Darbar Sahib that met the forces of the Indian State upon their invasion of Darbar Sahib in June 1984 – an account of great importance that has been lost within the Sikh community over the last three decades. It was no mere feat of luck that the might of the Indian State’s armed forces were kept at bay for so long by Sikhs defending the Darbar Sahib, and similarly the power and strategic acumen with which they were repelled needs to be reiterated to the Sikhs of the 21st Century.
