Ranjeet Singh Shahi is a Southampton-born historian and commentator on the Sikh faith, culture and heritage. He studied Architecture at the Universities of Manchester and Melbourne, going on to teach at the former. His dissertation focused on Punjabi-Sikh architectural, and urban, space-place relations within Britain.
He also had the privilege of leading and advising the Manchester Universities’ Sikh Society for a number of years which, as a joint venture of three universities, holds the distinction of being the largest Sikh Society in Britain. He is also a keen volunteer and supporter of Sikh medical charities and Sikh heritage groups.
Most recently he has been co-opted onto his local Gurdwara management team, becoming particularly active with youth in the community, creating engaging platforms from which their voices may be heard.
He has a special interest in architecture, sustainable development and Sikh heritage.
